Glen Patterson Managing Director

Glen Patterson
Managing Director

I’m Glen, the Managing Director and founder of Custom Enterprises Ltd. Although my career started in International Banking, moving into commerce and industry several years later. Qualifying as a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) in 1993. Before setting up Custom Enterprises I worked my way up the financial division of several multi-million pound companies and also undertook a one year full time Masters in Business Administration at the University of Leicester.

My aim while starting out as a small accounting firm was to provide people with a friendly service, with the focus on meetings in “plain English”. Even as the company has expanded the focus has always been on the people, whether it be the employees, out existing clients or the wider audience. While recruiting new employees I have expressed my wishes to help them grow as individuals and aid them in their learning. With doing this the company has been won for many awards, including; The National Institute of Adult Continuous Education East Midland Employer of the Year, a Highly Commended East Midlands Small Employer of the Year National Apprenticeship Award and Oak FM’s Small Business of the Year 2014 as part of their Pride of Hinckley and Nuneaton Awards. All of which has been achieved in 2014.

Along with running Custom Enterprises I enjoy the odd game of pool, often as team building activities. My interests also drumming and public speaking. This comes in useful when the team are singing to various songs as I can play along and mime to the words! This also seems to aid motivation and enthusiasm.

Bethan Fairbrother
Assistant Book-keeper

My name is Bethan, I’m 17 years old, and my position in the business is a Book-keeping Assistant. I began working at Custom Enterprises voluntarily on 22nd January 2014, this was to enhance my knowledge of accountancy and to gain beneficial experience. I then became a temporary full-time employee during the summer holidays. I am currently at college achieving my A-Levels; I have completed and passed my first year. Once beginning my second year at college, I will then return to voluntary work at Custom Enterprises, as I have sincerely enjoyed my time at Custom Enterprises and thus would not like it to end, I would also like to maintain the knowledge I have gained during my time here. As well as trying to achieve and improve at both work and college, in my spare time I like to spend with my family, including my 2 younger siblings who are twins. Before the past few years I never had any siblings, so when they were born they became very special to me. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and my boyfriend who I have been in a relationship with for several years now. I also like to plan several different holidays as a reward for my hard work.
