New Staff Appointment

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stacey Catlow, Apprentice Administrator. Stacey will be joining Custom Enterprises Limited from the 22nd March 2010. This will be Stacey’s first job since leaving school and she will bring with her the fresh and new ideas which often exist with youth and an eagerness to succeed. Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited commented “I believe that apprentices bring new ideas to a business that people who have worked in the sector for a while may not see as they are used to their own practices. Examination Results

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director of accountancy firm Custom Enterprises Limited, is pleased to announce an 86% pass rate for Rebecca Shorter in her business administration examination. Rebecca Shorter sat her examination for her NVQ level two in business administration on the 5th March 2010 and passed first time with a result of 86%. Rebecca is extremely pleased at her result as she has only been part of the company for six months. In this time Rebecca has also managed to complete her NVQ portfolio and will be able to sign off her first year as soon as she receives her certificates. Rebecca Shorter commented “I was unsure as to how my examination would go as I have not been a part of the company for very long, however I am very pleased at my result. I am still very ambitious and would like to complete my NVQ level three by Christmas, after this I would like to continue training and learning as many new skills as possible.”

NVQ Completions

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited, is pleased to announce the completion of NVQ level two’s by Gemma Smee and Sue McDonagh. Gemma Smee and Sue McDonagh have both completed there NVQ level two in Information Technology. This qualification helped Sue and Gemma become more confident using computers and gave them a larger amount of knowledge about the programmes that are available on a computer and how to use them. Gemma Smee has also completed her NVQ level two in customer service. This is a great attribute to Gemma and the company due to the working sector. This may be of a sensitive nature to some clients and so having a person who is skilled in how to treat clients is a great help to both the business and client.

Fire Marshal and First Aid Training

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director of accountancy firm Custom Enterprises Limited, is pleased to announce that several employees have taken courses in Fire Marshalling and First Aid. Claire Smith took part in half day course in Fire Marshalling and is now the nominated person to deal with any small incidents and to carry out fire alarm drills. Gemma Smee took part in a five day course in First Aid and is now the nominated First Aider. Glen Patterson and Claire Smith also took part in a one day First Aid course in case there is an incident whilst Gemma Smee is away. Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited, commented. “I think it is very important within any business to have people who are able to deal with extreme situations such as fires and incidents. I found the course eye opening as to what problems may be experienced within a company. I also believe that everyone should always be learning and training and so this was a brilliant experience for us all.”

DMU Intern Becomes New Assisstant Accountant

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited, is pleased to announce the appointment of Claire Smith as the new assistant accountant. Claire will be taking this position as of the 11th January 2010. Claire has been training for this position since September along side her duties of putting all processes in place for the implementation of ISO9001:2008. Claire was chosen for this position due to her knowledge of accounting and finance which she learnt at De Montfort University. After a few months of training, hard work and overtime Claire was given the offer to join the team as a full time member once her internship ended. Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited commented “Claire has worked very hard these past few months and shown a lot of promise as to the brilliant assistant accountant she will become. I am very proud to have Claire as part of the team.”

Extension to DMU Students Internship

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited, is pleased to announce the extension of Claire Smith’s internship with the company. As the time came near for De Montfort University graduate, Claire Smith, to finish her internship with Custom Enterprises Limited, Claire, managing director Glen and an assessor from DMU had a meeting to discuss further progression for Claire. The option which seemed most pleasing to all was to extend the internship by another sixteen weeks. Claire Smith who is on the internship implementing quality measures in preparation for an ISO9001:2008 certification commented “I have really enjoyed my time so far at Custom Enterprises Limited and have learnt many valuable lessons. Because of these factors I was happy to accept the offer to extend my internship.”

Hinckley Business Association Awards 2010 - Finallists

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director, is pleased to announce that Custom Enterprises Limited have been chosen as finalists for two categories in the Hinckley Business Association Awards 2009. Custom Enterprises Limited was recently nominated for three awards in the Hinckley Business association Awards 2009. We are pleased to be chosen as finalists under two categories, Employer Award and Community Support Award. The winners of the awards will also be placed into a draw to win Overall Business of the Year. The awards evening will take place on Thursday 24th September 2009. 16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited, is pleased to announce the appointment of Rebecca Shorter, Administrator. Rebecca joined Custom Enterprises Limited as an administrator on 3rd August 2009. As the company itself and the client base has grown so quickly the need for an administrator was realised. Rebecca brings with her experience of customer service, useful when dealing with clients, she will be assisting the team with their operations. Rebecca is on the apprentice scheme at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College. Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited commented “The amount of new clients we have received due to recent publicity and reputation has meant that we have had to bring another member into our ever expanding team. Rebecca will be assisting the other members and helping set up new client accounts. Having an administrator is a welcome benefit; it has been an experience working with North Warwickshire and Hinckley College. Custom Enterprises Limited was entered into the awards under three categories. These were; Community Support Award, Employer Award and also Customer Focus Award. The awards evening will take place on Thursday 24th September 2009 at Sketchley Grange Hotel. The winners of awards will also be put into a draw to win Overall Business of the Year Award. AAT Accreditation

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director, is pleased to announce the membership of Custom Enterprises Limited with AAT, the Association of Accounting Technicians. Three of Custom Enterprises Limited employees are currently undergoing training with AAT; Loni Smith, Gemma Smee and Lisa Wightman, they have all passed their first year with flying colours and are just about to embark on their second year. The course gives the students hands on experience and knowledge of essential accounting skills and principles. When completely finished the course all three women will be fully qualified accountants and book-keepers. Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited, commented “It will be extremely beneficial to our company to have more qualified accountants. This means that we will be able to give even more sound advice to clients and reduce our already quick turn around time.”

Working with De Montfort University

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited, is pleased to announce a working partnership with De Montfort University from June 2009. For a twelve week period starting on 22nd June 2009 Custom Enterprises Limited will be working with De Montfort University and appointing a graduate, Claire Smith, to set up the ISO 9001/2008 system. Glen Patterson, Managing Director, commented “Claire is coming to Custom Enterprises Limited on the graduate internship scheme. Having ISO 9001/2008 set up has the benefit of making the company efficient with improved reliability and control whilst also providing a professional administrative environment from which to gain solid experience for the graduate themselves.”

Lisa joined Custom Enterprises Limited as a book keeper on 1st July 2009. She is currently training for AAT advanced certificate in accountancy and an ICB level 2 in book keeping. Lisa brings with her knowledge and experiences of Senior Accounts Administration from several companies. Lisa’s initial focus will be taking on current clients to reduce our turnaround times and provide further accounting service. Georgina joined Custom Enterprises Limited as Publicity Co-ordinator from 1st July 2009 With years of experience George works from home raising awareness about Custom Enterprises Limited activities to ensure they receive the attention they deserve. Some of the activities that George will partake in are; liaising with the press and writing and publishing articles on the company’s progress. ISO9001:2008

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited, is pleased to announce the use of ISO 9001/ 2008. The ISO 9001/2008 will start to be processed in June 2009, due to be audited in September 2009. ISO 9001/ 2008 is the most widely used standard world wide. Registration by a UKAS approved body provides proof that a business has applied an effective quality management system that satisfies all of the requirements and is viewed by many as the framework for the best businesses. Hinckley Carnival 2009

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited, was delighted to be asked to be this year’s accountancy firm responsible for Hinckley’s carnival for the second year running. Hinckley Town Centre will hold their carnival on Sunday 13th September2009 with the fair being held at Clarendon Park. The annual event will have over twenty floats and bands for the parade with a field full of activities after. Custom Enterprises Limited successfully spent many hours contacting previous stall holders and businesses with floats to take part in this years’ as well as securing new businesses to take part for the first time. Custom Enterprises Limited will be acting as the independent accountants for the event and verifying public donations and producing a full set of accounts. Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited commented “It was an honour to be asked to be the accountants used by the committee for the second year running. Soon after moving to our new offices in Hinckley in 2008 we decided to be as involved as possible in helping to contribute towards the local community working for the carnival has helped us to integrate quickly. With the arrival of another book keeper we are able to process accounts in a quicker, more efficient time, helping with customer satisfaction. ICM Accreditation

The Institute of Credit Management is a centre of information for all subjects relating to credit management which offers a wide range of services to credit professionals. For members of the Institute of Credit Management there are a wide range of benefits including a flexible range of study methods and over 200 seminars per year as well as becoming part of an influential group where members can voice their own views and opinions. Working With John Cleveland College

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director, is pleased to announce his alliance with John Cleveland College students on redesigning the Custom Enterprises Limited website. Throughout 2008/ 2009 Custom Enterprises Limited offered three students from John Cleveland College; Matthew Wilkinson, Ben McQueen and Nick Bedford, the chance to work with the company and help to redesign the website http://www.ce-l.com. The students were given a chance to work in a commercial environment to redesign the website from scratch. As well as being able to add this experience to their CV’s the students gained a valuable insight into a possible future career. Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited, commented “Rather than hire another company to redesign the website we deemed it more fulfilling to the local students to obtain first hand experience of what it would be like to work commercially. Considerations were in place for exam times so this was a win-win situation for all concerned.”

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director of Custom Enterprises Limited, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sue McDonough and Cally Stewart, in house marketers, from 16th February 2009 Sue and Cally joined Custom Enterprises Limited as in house marketers from 16th February 2009. This is a new development for Custom Enterprises Limited as we have never before had in house marketing. As business developers Sue and Cally will be invaluable to the team as they procure more clients and help the company to grow. They bring with them a wide range of experience of telemarketing in previous companies. Hinckley Carnival June 2008

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director, is delighted to be asked to be this year’s accountancy firm responsible for Hinckley Carnival’s Accounts. Hinckley Town Centre will be holding their annual carnival on Sunday 8th June 2008. This annual focal point includes over 20 floats and a full day of activities. Custom Enterprises Limited has been approached by the committee to act as the independent accountants for verifying public donations and preparing a full set of accounts. Glen Patterson commented “It is a real honour that since our expansion to Hinckley that our contribution to quality and client satisfaction have been noticed. We consider this a real achievement for this prestigious event when we are in fact “the new kids on the block”.”

Move to Larger Premises

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director, is pleased to announce an expansion to a new suite of offices in Hinckley. As of the 1st April 2008 Custom Enterprises Limited moved into a new suite of offices in Hinckley town centre. Glen Patterson commented “That we have been searching for some time to find the right offices from which to continue our expansion. We selected these offices as they match our business development plan and are located in the heart of Hinckley. This provides easy access to all local businesses from general enquiries to on site dedicated problem resolution.”

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director, is pleased to announce an alliance with Keeping The Books Limited. As of the 1st April 2008 Custom Enterprises Limited has agreed to an alliance with Keeping The Books Limited for the provision of Company Secretarial services. Glen Patterson commented “We look forward to a long and rewarding business relationship in which this specialist knowledge adds benefits to our clients.”

Examination Result

16 Mar 10 - Custom Enterprises Limited is pleased to announce a 100% examination result for its Managing Director Glen Patterson. Glen Patterson recently sat the Institute of Certified Book-keepers exam and achieved a 100% pass rate on his first attempt at the Certified level of the exams. He commented “I was surprised to achieve such a high mark as I only just finished the exam with 3 minutes to spare.” This result allows him to use the initials MICB after his name. He is now a certified member of the Institute of Certified Book-keepers. This builds on his previous exam result of 98% at the Associate level in November 2007. Mr Patterson commented “it is important to lead from the front in any organisation. Undertaking these exams through our enhanced training scheme coupled with previous knowledge and experience has shown that we all succeed given the right support and environment.” Custom Enterprises Limited is a registered member of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and The Institute of Certified Book-keepers.

Rachel Jennings joins Custom Enterprises Limited as Practice Accountant. Rachel brings with her a wealth of practice experience of different systems and software. Rachel’s initial focus will be in the development of practice procedures to reduce our speedy turnaround times and provide additional accounting expertise. Examination Result

16 Mar 10 - Glen Patterson, Managing Director, is pleased to announce a 100% examination result for Loni Smith. Loni Smith who recently joined Custom Enterprises Limited earlier in the year was "overjoyed to achieve a 100% pass rate", at her first attempt. This means that Miss Loni Smith has qualified as an Associate of the Institute of Certified Book-keepers. This entitles her to use the letters AICB after her name. Glen Patterson is pleased that the efforts of Custom Enterprises Limited enhanced training program have produced such outstanding success in such a short time. Mr Patterson commented “providing an individual training package that supports each personal circumstance both at work and home is key to maximising success both for the individual and the company."
